Recently, we decided to invest in achieving our Cyber Essentials Certification, a UK-wide, government-backed certification that helps companies guard against the most common cyber threats.
As well as reducing threat risks by 80%, achieving this certification creates a range of additional benefits for our customers, including:
Most cyber-attacks exploit basic weaknesses in organisations such as a lack of well-configured firewalls or updated software. These types of attacks are simple to defend against with the strategies provided by cyber essentials, as they help organisations mitigate the risks of the most likely ones by providing a strong base for businesses to work with.
Introduced in 2019, The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) required organisations that are processing the information of EU citizens to protect this data from theft and unauthorised access. Whilst GDPR requires a lot more than the five main controls in the Cyber Essentials scheme, it can help prepare against breaches and audit internal security and mitigate security threats.
It's mandatory for suppliers to be compliant with the Cyber Essentials scheme in order to bid for UK government contracts that require technical services or the handling of sensitive information. We aim to service all industries with our cabling solutions, and with our Cyber Essentials certification, we can now make that a reality.
It's understandable for customers to be sceptical of businesses with little or no concern for cyber security, that's why we invest in every measure we can to provide our customers with peace of mind and establish trust throughout their service period.
We are proud to display our Cyber Essentials badge among our other certifications, as it proves to customers, suppliers, and investors that we take our systems security and the integrity of data seriously.
